The Rays have traded Willy Adames to the Brewers. This makes a clear pathway for Wander Franco, baseball's #1 prospect to begin his MLB career. The Rays say Franco won't be called up just yet, but it's becoming obvious that Franco will be up sooner rather than later.

Kevin Pillar took a 94.5 mph fastball to his face last night. He was taken to the hospital for CT scans, but it appears to be a broken nose at the very least. Gerrit Cole broke Corbin Burnes' recent record for most consecutive strikeouts between walks. Cole ran his tally up to 61 K's, although the Rangers tagged him for 5 runs to defeat the Yankees. The Yankees have placed Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list. This isn't a surprise to most of us as Stanton has constantly battled injuries over the past few years. The Mets placed McNeil and Conforto on the IL as well with hamstring injuries. Noah Syndergaard will be back in action soon - he's starting a rehab assignment at Low-A. Jarred Kelenic collected his first MLB hit and HR on the same swing. He also added two doubles and flashed his plus speed. Are the Bryce Harper comparisons fair? Gio Urshela's pinch-hit 3-run HR was the game-deciding blow as the Yankees defeated the Orioles. Aaron Judge added two homers of his own. Judge's numbers are excellent, and you just have to live with the strikeouts. The Nationals pounded out 17 runs against the D-backs and Yan Gomes led the way with 5 hits.
